Ever since I was a child, I was a collector of little things. I had shelves with little items carefully placed just as they should be. There were clowns (I know, the stuff of nightmares for some, but they had joyful faces), silver dollars, small jewelry boxes, and pictures. I remember feeling so strongly about where each item was. Looking back now, I’m sure I was trying to balance the energetic flow of everything, creating my own sort of energetic grid.

As I grew into adulthood, I became a collector of crystals and stones. I would walk into a store and choose whichever one pulled me. Sometimes they were for me and sometimes they were meant for someone else and I would gladly pass them on when the time felt right.

I know some people think that crystals are silly or woo-woo magic, but I feel their power. When I first went through a massive shift in consciousness, I felt so very vulnerable. It was my heart chakra that felt so wide open. I bought a rose quartz necklace and wore it for years until I felt strong enough on my own.

Another stone called to me from a dream. I dreamed of a beautiful stone that I was told was a moonstone. It was dark blue and with light gold on the bottom in the dream. I went to a metaphysical store a few days later and there it was. The EXACT same stone I saw in my dream. I bought it that instant and still keep it on my dresser at home.

Another powerful experience was also when I was going through some physical and consciousness changes. I’d worked so hard to clear out so many old emotions and experiences, but there was something lingering in my heart space. On my lunch break from work I decided to visit a crystal shop. I walked around for about 10 minutes until I found a very small stone, moldavite, that called out to me. As soon as I placed it into my left hand – the receiving hand – I felt a rush of energy and emotion come over me. I immediately started to cry. Another customer who witnessed it said he felt like he was being hit by a massive wave of something. And then I felt lighter.

I’ve had countless healing experiences with stones. Will everyone feel their power? No. You have to be open to feeling the energy. And I certainly lean in.
