Don’t Miss Your Chance

Fun. Sometimes it feels like a lost concept in my life. I remember years ago when it was completely lost. I didn’t know how find that part of myself again. Moments now, as I work through difficult emotions- and moments, as I reach to stand at the mountain top instead of climbing up a rocky cliff, I still stumble.

I try to have fun. And I feel like I’m doing so much better than I once was. Breaking through the hard times to find joy in the small things.  Life has a way of piling up on you. A way of losing you along the way until you get to a point where you can no longer bear to be where you are. When I left my teaching job last year, a dear friend of mine read a poem and today I share it with you:

Risk by Anais Nin

And then the day came,
when the risk
to remain tight
in a bud
was more painful
than the risk
it took
to blossom.

It’s too risky to stay where you feel stuck. It’s too risky to not be in a place of joy. This human life is about the ups and down. It’s why we incarnate. As souls, there is peace, and calm, and love. So much love. But as humans, we are given the unique opportunity to experience the highest of highs. Don’t miss your chance.
